The agreement, signed on April 9, 2025, will ensure Coromandel receives long-term supplies of Di-Ammonium Phosphate (DAP) and NP/NPK fertilizers from Ma’aden. This move comes amidst global supply chain disruptions that have impacted DAP availability in India.

“This strategic partnership with Ma’aden is a natural extension of our longstanding relationship and will help Coromandel ensure timely availability of DAP and complex fertilizers to the Indian farming community,” stated Mr. Narayanan Vellayan, Director – Strategic Sourcing, Coromandel International. He emphasized Coromandel’s commitment to supporting India’s 4.5 million farmers.

Talking about the supply deal Mr. Saud Al Tamimi, Director – Fertiliser Sales Commercial, Phosphate Business Unit, Ma’aden said, “We are expanding our production capacity from 6 million tonnes to 9 million tonnes in the near term, reinforcing our commitment to serve the growing needs of India’s agriculture sector.”

As per the reports received, both the companies expressed interest in expanding their partnership beyond phosphates and raw materials to include joint efforts in research and development, innovation, and specialty products aimed at promoting sustainable farming practices.
