Bengaluru โ Y Combinator held its first Startup School India event in Bengaluru, drawing thousands of founders and startup professionals to a one-day program focused on building and scaling companies.
According to the organizers, more than 25,000 applications were received within 48 hours, with around 2,500 participants shortlisted and over 2,250 attending the event.
Speakers included startup founders Harshil Mathur of Razorpay, Aadit Palicha of Zepto, Vidit Aatrey of Meesho, and Lalit Keshre of Groww, along with Y Combinator partners. Sessions covered topics such as early-stage development, product-market fit, fundraising, scaling operations, and expanding into global markets.
The program also highlighted artificial intelligence as an area of growing focus, with discussions on building technology-driven companies in India with international reach.
The event was organized in collaboration with SKIL Events, which managed on-ground execution.
Ramanpreet Singh, vice president at SKIL Events, said the event reflected increasing ambition among Indian founders, particularly in areas such as AI and deep technology. He also noted the logistical challenges of organizing an event of that scale within a limited timeframe.
The launch of Startup School India reflects ongoing efforts to connect Indian entrepreneurs with global startup networks, as interest in such initiatives continues to grow.
