The film explores the evolution of fan culture, from the era of actor-politician M.G. Ramachandran to the current phenomenon surrounding Rajinikanth, Allu Arjun, and other pan-India stars. Through a mix of heartfelt stories and interviews with iconic actors like Allu Arjun, Kichcha Sudeep, and Vijay Sethupathi, “Fanatics” sheds light on the unique actor-fan relationship and its influence on society.
The documentary doesn’t shy away from the darker aspects. It acknowledges the tragic consequences of fanaticism, where rivalries among fan groups can sometimes lead to violence.
