Mumbai, India — Reliance Retail Limited (RRL) has acquired the global haircare brand Anomaly, founded by actor and entrepreneur Priyanka Chopra Jonas, the company announced Thursday. The acquisition includes the brand’s trademarks, assets, and digital properties.
Anomaly, launched in 2021, offers vegan haircare products positioned at an accessible price point and has established distribution in several international markets. With the deal, Reliance Retail gains full ownership of the brand’s intellectual property and digital ecosystem.
According to the announcement, the acquisition is intended to expand Reliance Retail’s presence in the beauty and personal care sector and support the growth of its portfolio of consumer brands. The company plans to scale Anomaly through its retail network and digital platforms, including Tira, as part of an omnichannel strategy.
Isha Ambani, Executive Director of Reliance Retail Ventures Limited, said the addition of Anomaly aligns with the company’s focus on expanding its range of beauty brands and leveraging its retail and digital infrastructure to grow them.
Reliance Retail said India will be a priority market, with plans to develop products tailored to local hair and scalp needs. The company also intends to continue expanding Anomaly’s presence in international markets such as North America, the United Kingdom, and the Middle East.
Priyanka Chopra Jonas will remain involved with the brand as Creative Director, overseeing its vision and product development, according to the announcement.
