InsureTech Startup Flashaid Steps Up to Protect Students’ Futures

Mumbai: Mumbai-based insurtech company, Flashaid, is launching a new protection plan aimed at providing financial security to university and school students in the face of educational disruptions and unemployment.

The “Student Total Protect” plan is a comprehensive solution that offers a combination of tuition protection, health coverage, and career placement assistance. It’s designed to provide peace of mind to students and their families, ensuring that their educational and professional journeys can continue despite unexpected setbacks.

This initiative comes at a crucial time. According to a 2019 NSSO survey, a worrying one in five students drop out of formal education every year due to unforeseen circumstances. To tackle this issue, Flashaid has already partnered with more than ten universities and schools and has ambitious plans to collaborate with over 100 institutions in the coming year.

The importance of student safety and well-being is also being emphasized by the UGC, which has issued guidelines mandating that colleges ensure the physical and mental protection of their students during trips and study tours.

Flashaid, founded by Manoj Gupta and Gunjali Kothari, provides a full-stack health solution that includes proprietary pre-underwritten products, open APIs, and embedded solutions. The company’s innovative approach has already garnered attention, leading to a successful $2.5 million pre-Series A funding round earlier this year in April.

With the launch of “Student Total Protect,” Flashaid is taking a significant step toward addressing a major concern in the education sector, providing much-needed financial protection for students and their families.
