Malvika Hada Kumar, Moj content creator who recently won of Kitchen Minister of India campaign from Haryana, shares the recipe for Hara Chana Cholia.
Ingredients:
- 1 tbsp Oil
- 1/2 tsp Cumin seeds
- 2-3 Dry red chillies
- 2-3 Cloves
- 1 Bay leaf
- 1-1/2 tsp Garlic, finely chopped
- 2 Onions, finely chopped
- 1 cup Tomato puree
- 1/2 cup Yogurt, whisked
- 1 tsp Kashmiri red chilli powder
- 1 cup Fresh green chickpeas, pressure cooked for 1 whistle.
- 1/2 tsp Turmeric powder
- 1 tsp Coriander powder
- Salt, to taste
- 1/2 tsp Garam masala powder
- 1/4 cup Coriander leaves, finely chopped
- Water, as required
Instructions
- Heat oil in a pan. Add cumins seeds, cloves, dry red chillies and bay leaf. Saute until the seeds splutter.
- Add garlic and fry for a few seconds. Add onions and cook until they turn lightly browned.
- Add in tomato puree, Kashmiri red chilli powder, turmeric powder, coriander powder and salt. Mix well and cook on low until it leaves oil.
- Add whisked yogurt on low heat and stir continuously. Cook for 3-4 minutes.
- Add in fresh cooked green chickpeas, water and cook for another 10 minutes.
- Add garam masala powder, coriander leaves and mix well.
